During our spring time visit to the north of Thailand we stayed at the Aksara Heritage hotel in Chiang Mai’s city center. I mean inside the old city area within the square formed by the Mae Kha canal (moat). We were absolutely charmed by the unique and chic style of the hotel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After checking into the hotel with the help of the friendly staff, you enter an area with the pool and a terrace of the restaurant where you can enjoy a nice cold drink or have a meal including some of the famous local dishes. Also in the night the lights make this a very pleasant place to hang around. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not just the grounds and general areas, the rooms were stunning as well. They have a unique style, were kept in top condition, and always very clean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel is just a short walk away from the Tha Phae Gate on the east city of the old city center. Also the beautiful Wat Chedi Luang grounds are nearby. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting here<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the hotel is in the center of Chiang Mai it is easy to reach with all kinds of transport. If you fly into Chiang Mai take a taxi and you get here in just about 15 minutes. As we were travelling through the region we had our own rental car. The hotel has a few parking spots to the side of the hotel. As space is limited they do recommend a reservation of the parking spot. <\/p>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n \n\n\n
