Nestled on the fringes of Khao Yai National Park, Dusit D2 in Mu Si is a destination that seamlessly blends modern luxury with the serene beauty of Thailand’s iconic countryside. After hearing rave reviews and seeing stunning photos online, we decided to book a night at this much-talked-about hotel, eager to experience its charm firsthand.

Arrival and First Impressions

The drive from Bangkok to Mu Si is scenic, taking you through rolling hills and lush landscapes. As I arrived at Dusit D2, I was immediately struck by the welcoming ambiance—a fusion of contemporary design and natural elements. The staff greeted me with warm smiles setting the tone for a relaxing stay.

Room With a View

My room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the gardens and distant mountains. Modern amenities were at my fingertips, including a plush bed and a balcony perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. During our visit we unfortunately had some rain so we could experience a nice orange sunset.

Dining Delights

Dusit D2 boasts several dining options, but the highlight for me was the all-day restaurant offering both Thai and international cuisine. I savoured local specialties, each dish bursting with fresh flavours. We selected the Mu Si Grill restaurant.

But if you have time also try the Kuni Kuni restaurant. This restaurant has a unique built. They serve farm-to-table dishes using local produce.

Exploring Khao Yai

One of the biggest draws of staying at Dusit D2 is its proximity to Khao Yai National Park. The hotel can help arranging a guided tour. We arrived through the park so we didn’t take that option but the hotel is happy to help. Khao Yai National Park is Thailand’s oldest national park and is a must for nature lovers. We enjoyed watching a wide range of tropical birds.

For wine lovers, nearby vineyards offer tastings and panoramic views—don’t miss a visit to PB Valley or GranMonte Winery!

On property, there’s plenty to keep you occupied. I spent an afternoon lounging by the pool, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature.

How to Get Here?

Arriving from Bangkok you can drive over the highways via Saraburi and go straight to the hotel. Alternatively you enter the park first on the south side at Nakhon Nayok. Spend the whole day in the park and then leave the park via the north entrance. The area north of the north entrance is full with nice restaurants and coffee shops. Make sure to try these as well.
