Chocolate Ville in the eastern part of Bangkok is a truly unique restaurant experience. By size it might be the largest restaurant in Bangkok. I don’t know a larger one, let me know in the comments if you area aware of a larger restaurant. The restaurant isn’t just a single building but rather a park with multiple dining areas all belonging to the same restaurant. It is so big that the food is brought out using small electric tricycles.

The restaurant has a European building theme with typical buildings, canals as well as a light tower and windmill. Some of the buildings are mostly for decoration and don’t have any function but others are used for various functions. In the unfortunate case that there is some rain, the restaurant has covered areas to protect you from the rain.

Ever since the opening somewhere in 2012 (I think) we have been a regular visitor. Our very first visit was during the first week of opening. Since then the overall layout of the restaurant park remained mostly the same but more activities have been included ever since. During special holidays Chocolate Ville organises special events to draw in more customers. It can be crowded during these events. Nowadays also more tourists find their way out here. In the beginning it were mostly the people from Bangkok that came here. To cover some costs and to avoid that people just come in to take photos (taking photos here is a popular activity) the restaurant started to charge an entry fee. This fee will be deducted from the restaurant bill.

The restaurant serves a wide selection of dishes from popular Thai food to various Western food options.
One of our popular dishes is the pork knuckle.

How to get here?
Chocolate Ville isn’t in the center of the city. To visit Chocolate Ville you need to get to the east of Bangkok, to the Khannayao district. Chocolate Ville is located on the Kaset-Nawamin road towards the end that is close to the Kanchanapisek ring road. The restaurant has a parking lot on the side but during very busy days this might not be enough and cars park on the main road.
Public transport isn’t that easy. You would most likely have to make several changes. But since not so long the Pink Line (monorail) comes to Khannayao and the Ramintra road. You could exit e.g. at the Pink Line station for the Fashion Island shopping mall and take a very short taxi drive from there.
