Mida Resort

Chill Out in Nature

If you’re cruising from Kanchanaburi city to Srinakarin Dam or Erawan National Park, you’ll spot Mida Resort about halfway between Lat Ya and the dam. It has been a while since we were here, but the memories of this place are still on our mind. It’s tucked away in the woods, so you might miss it if you’re not looking! The place has loads of rooms and even some villas, all right by the river. There’s a big grassy area between the buildings and the water, so you can really soak up the nature vibes. Plus, the trees give you plenty of shade from the Thai sun.

Fun Stuff to Do

Feeling adventurous? You can rent river rafts or hop on an ATV. You can’t swim in the river, but don’t worry—the resort has a huge pool with plenty of loungers and a pool bar. Perfect for chilling out!

Food & Drinks

We visited during Songkran (Thai New Year), and every night there was a special dinner. We got a BBQ buffet with tons of meat and fish options. Everything tasted great, so I bet the restaurant is solid any time of year.

Service & Rooms

The staff were super friendly and helpful, even though it was busy. They greeted us at the parking lot, helped us check in, and showed us to our room. We had a River View room, which costs a bit more than the garden view ones. Just a heads up: “River View” doesn’t mean you’re right on the water—the green space blocks most of the view. It’s still nice, but maybe not worth the extra cash. But judge yourself based on the above and below image (river view).

Our room was clean and spacious, but kind of funny—there was only one chair for two people, so someone had to sit on the bed. Not a big deal for us since we were only there one night. Some corners could use a wallpaper touch-up, but the outside looked freshly painted.

The restaurant and bar were neat and cozy, and there’s a little souvenir shop with local goodies next to the bar.

Getting There

You’ll need a car, taxi, or tour to get to Mida Resort—it’s pretty far from any town. From Bangkok, drive to Kanchanaburi, then head toward Erawan National Park and Srinakarin Dam. After you pass Lat Ya, keep going for about 20 km. The resort’s on the left, hidden in the forest, so watch for the sign! Once you turn in, you’ll drive through a bunch of weekend houses (most are empty), and then you’ll hit the resort near the river. The entrance is easy to spot.
