As we are staying in the Khannayao district of Bangkok, the Fashion Island shopping mall isn’t far away. But after having visited (over the years) many shopping malls in Bangkok I still consider Fashion Island my favourite. Bangkok’s city center is loaded with many fancy shopping malls and some of them offer some very luxurious brands. Those brands you won’t find in Fashion Island, but this mall has everything you need. From nice clothing shops in all styles and price ranges, endless food options, food court, cinema, tech shops and all famous phone brands are represented here as well.

A Complete Travel Guide to Bangkok’s Fashion Island Shopping Mall

Bangkok is renowned for its vibrant shopping scene, but if you’re looking for a destination that combines retail therapy, delicious food, and entertainment under one roof, Fashion Island is your go-to spot. Located on Ramintra Road, in the eastern part of Bangkok, this sprawling mall promises more than just shopping—it’s an experience. Whether you’re a fashionista, a family on the hunt for fun, or a foodie eager to try something new, Fashion Island has something for everyone. Let’s dive into why this mall should be at the top of your Bangkok itinerary!

Mall Style and Atmosphere

Fashion Island stands out for its modern, spacious design. Think gleaming floors, wide walkways, and a bright, inviting atmosphere. The mall’s interior is tastefully decorated with contemporary touches and elegant seating areas. Natural light streams in through skylights, giving the whole place an airy vibe. It’s a comfortable space to wander, shop, and relax, no matter the time of day.

Fashion Island’s Grand Station area

In recent years the front end towards the entrance from Ramintra is converted into Grand Station. Besides food options this area covers lots of small boutique shops that cover the former Home Pro area. Home Pro has since moved into an area taken from one of the parking buildings.

Shops and Retail Variety

If variety is what you’re after, Fashion Island delivers! The mall hosts a diverse mix of local Thai brands and international favorites. From fast fashion outlets like H&M, Uniqlo, and Zara to luxury boutiques and specialty stores, there’s something for every style and budget. Tech lovers will find electronics stores stacked with the latest gadgets, while beauty enthusiasts can browse through a range of cosmetics and skincare shops. Don’t miss the vibrant market-style pop-up stalls scattered throughout the mall, perfect for picking up unique accessories, gifts, or souvenirs. Fashion Island is massive and it will take you easily hours to cover everything. A quick stroll through all the floors can easily take close to an hour. Check-out my video where I do exactly this. In the video I also cover the connected Promenade shopping mall (more below).

Food and Dining Options

Shop till you drop, then refuel in one of Fashion Island’s many dining spots. You’ll find everything from quick bites to sit-down eateries. The expansive food court offers a world of flavors: classic Thai dishes, Japanese cuisine, Korean BBQ, Western fast food, and more. Craving something sweet? Grab bubble tea, artisan coffee, or a slice of cake from the chic cafes. For families and groups, there are plenty of casual restaurants where you can enjoy hearty meals without breaking the bank.

Entertainment: Cinema, Skating, and More

Fashion Island isn’t just for shopping and eating—it’s packed with entertainment! The mall houses a state-of-the-art cinema complex, showing the latest international and Thai films in plush, comfortable auditoriums. If you’re in the mood for active fun, head to the ice skating rink—a favorite among kids and teens, and a great way to cool off in Bangkok’s tropical climate. There are arcades, play zones for young children, and regular events like live performances or seasonal fairs that keep the energy buzzing./

The Promenade Connection

Fashion Island’s connects seamless to The Promenade, a stylish lifestyle mall right next door. Linked by a covered walkway, you can easily stroll between the two, doubling your shopping and dining options. The Promenade offers even more boutique stores, hip restaurants, and chic cafés, making the whole area a hub for locals and tourists alike.

Location and Accessibility

Fashion Island is located in the eastern part of Bangkok on Ramintra Road, in the Khan Na Yao district. It’s not far from landmarks like Safari World and is well-placed for those staying in northern or eastern Bangkok. The area is lively, with easy access to other neighborhoods and major roads.

Using the Pink Line to Reach Fashion Island

1. Overview of the Pink Line

The MRT Pink Line is a newly opened elevated monorail connecting Nonthaburi (northwest Bangkok) to Min Buri (northeast Bangkok). It runs along Ram Inthra Road, which is the same road where Fashion Island is located. The Pink Line is designed to serve Bangkok’s northern and eastern districts, making it ideal for reaching Fashion Island.

2. Which Station for Fashion Island?

The closest Pink Line station to Fashion Island is Outer Ring Road–Ram Inthra (sometimes listed as “Ram Inthra” or “Ram Inthra 3”).

The station actually directly connects to Fashion Island.

3. Step-by-Step Directions

Board the Pink Line at any station along its route. If you’re coming from central Bangkok, you may need to transfer from the BTS Green Line at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat station or from the MRT Purple Line at Nonthaburi Civic Center.

Travel towards Min Buri direction if you’re coming from the city centre or Nonthaburi.

Alight at Outer Ring Road–Ram Inthra station.

Exit the station and follow signs to Fashion Island shopping mall. But you can’t miss it. The massive mall is right next to the station.

4. Connections and Transfers

If you’re not already on the Pink Line, you can transfer from:

BTS Green Line at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat station.

MRT Purple Line at Nonthaburi Civic Center station.

5. Other Transport Options

Buses and taxis also serve Fashion Island, but the Pink Line is the most direct public transport option.

Travelling by car

If you have your own car please note that Fashion Island is surrounded by parking buildings. The mall claims a capacity of 50,000 car park spaces per day. I am not sure how that exactly is calculated but the parking areas are huge. The parking area has direct connections into Ramintra Road as well as quick access to the Kanchanapisek Road (ring road).

Fashion Island has 100-rai land with usable area of 350,000 sq.m. and over 600 branded stores. They claim to have welcomed over 120,000 guests each day.

Impact on the area

Fashion Island opened back in 1995 and has since had multiple upgrades to keep the mall attractive and up-to modern standards. It plays a key role in this area of Bangkok. Frequently it organizes festivals and events. With the opening of Fashion Island the shopping experience originally located in the city center got decentralized and opened up the northeastern part of Bangkok.
